Have you checked out Smyrna Dunes Park yet? A 1.5 mile boardwalk trail across 73 acres. Gentle breezes play in the sea grass, and wildlife including tortoises, call the park home. Located at the northern tip of NSB – the park is housed where the Indian River meets the Atlantic ocean. Beach on one side and river on the other – this park is a wonder to behold.

There are nature trails, grills, showers, observation towers, restrooms and the famous NSB dog beach all within the park. Our dog beach is one of the best parts of the New Smyrna Beach, and people come all over to let their 4-legged family members romp in the surf. The Orlando-Sentinel recently did a write up about it.
As a matter of fact, a number of webpages and internet searches espouse the charms of Smyrna Dunes Park. It is one of NSB’s most popular attractions. Speaking of which – the parking lot is small, and once it’s full cars are only allowed in as others leave. You can access the park from the beach as well – if you drive up to the inlet you’ll see the walkways leading on to the par near the jetty.

There’s a fee to use the park and the hours are sunrise to sunset. You can swim and fish at the park, but remember that there’s no lifeguard on duty. For more info click here.
