There are fun events happening all over NSB this weekend that let us enjoy the cooler weather and our beautiful seaside town.

Monster Beach 10k

Run for your lives, the zombies are coming! Don’t miss the 10K race like no other! Yes there will be more than a handful of zombies roaming the beach that day and the first 300 runners to sign up will receive a flag football belt that the zombies will be trying to steal! Free race t-shirts are awarded after the race, with runners with at least one flag remaining receiving an “I survived the Monster 10K Beach Run” and those with no flags left getting an “I turned monster at the Monster 10K Beach Run.” Runners, walkers, families, and joggers are welcome to participate, with registration starting at 8am, race start at 9am. Medals in 84 categories and two overall plaques will be awarded, as well as prizes for the best costumes! But that’s not all! Don’t miss the post-race Zombie Social and award ceremony, with plenty of monster photo opportunities.

Sand Art Festival

It’s time again sand sculptors, for some sea life creations! Sand and water: These are the key elements in sand art, and something in no short supply here in New Smyrna Beach! With sand so fine, it squeaks when you walk on it and beautiful clear water, it is the ideal combination for a fun, creative day of sandy shenanigans! Amateur teams will consist of families, friends, co-workers and community groups. All competitors will create their own sand sculptures in 10′ X 10′ plots of cordoned beach. Prizes will be awarded for individual adult, child and team categories, judged by both professionals and local celebrity judges! Sand art professionals will also create magnificent sculptures, showing off one of our area’s most valued natural resources!
