River Deck Restaurant
Opening Soon in New Smyrna Beach

Area developers are giving new meaning to redevelopment at the east end of historic Canal Street and Riverside Drive. Once a two parcel location consisting of boat storage, a marina, a bait sales store and the Dolphin view restaurant, it is now a single property per a 25 year lease agreement. The development is known as River Deck and will be built in phases.
The first phase is the remodeling of the existing restaurant while preserving some of old New Smyrna beach by recycling cypress wood from an area home slated for demolish- ment for the restaurant’s interior. Remodeling existing structures is a priority for the de- velopers as is retaining the character of historic Canal Street.
As additional phases are built, input from citizens will be welcomed as an inherent part of the development process. The River Deck restaurant will be the first building to be opened to the public. The opening is planned for later this year.
The development phases will include:
The Tiki Hut; to be constructed as part of the River Deck restaurant Marina reconstruction
Dry storage reconstruction with design features to complement the village quality of Canal Street
Upgraded bait store
Enlarged and paved parking areas
Creation of new walkways for river views for the public thereby adding an important link to the pedestrian-friendly NSB waterfront loop
