Looking for something exciting to do this weekend? The Hub on Canal is celebrating its 5th birthday on Saturday, which means an all day party! Don’t miss this awesome opportunity to get a bit of extra art and culture in your weekend.
At the Hub
While the Hub usually hosts 1st Saturday events, they’re really ramping things up in honor of their 5th birthday for the March 1st Saturday.
Starting from 10am, catch their Artists’ Market. Interested in how artists bring their work to life? Not only will the Hub be showcasing the work of 80 different artists, but also they’ll be hosting live art demonstrations. Watch art in motion, and find out how these talented artists work!
From 10am to 7pm, there will be a wide variety of live music at The Hub. Free to the public, the Hub’s own Blues/Jug Band will be kicking things off from 10am until noon! Up next, the Dayton State College Flute Choir will be preforming both Celtic and American music that is sure to be a delight. Their performance time is from 2pm to 3:30 pm. Nancy Hartline & the Sons of Beaches, start at 3:45pm and go until 5:15pm. And finally Paul Katinas will be closing from 5:30pm to 7pm on the guitar.
There will also be an Opening Reception during the Gallery Walk from 4pm to 7pm, and Artist Peggy Banks will present the Art of Healing Artist talk at 6pm.

And since it’s the 1st Saturday, you know there’ll be some regular 1st Saturday events. Look forward to:
The Downtown Music Festival (9am-9pm)- Antique and Vintage Market (9am-5pm)
- Art Stroll (10am-4pm)
- Water Wise (11am-6pm)
- Corn Hole Tournament at Riverside Park (1pm-4pm)

- Gallery Walk (4pm-7pm)
