The Best Places Around New Smyrna Beach to Watch Fireworks

Where are you celebrating Independence Day weekend? In the New Smyrna Beach area, there are plenty of locations to watch the sky light up at night. Below are our recommendations about where to spend the Fourth of July.

Head to the Bandshell for a fun weekend of live music. There will be fireworks at 9:45pm directly after the concerts on Saturday and Monday.

4. Kennedy Park in Edgewater

Date: July 3 | Details: www.volusiacountymoms.com

The City of Edgewater will have a spectacular display of fireworks starting at dusk. There will also be fun festivities which will begin at 5:00pm.

3. Rockefeller Gardens in Ormond Beach

Enjoy the riverfront park while listening to live bands, eating food from the vendors, and letting the kids have fun with the activities. The firework show will begin around 9:30pm.

2. City Center Complex in Port Orange

Date: July 4 | Details: www.facebook.com

There will be live music, watermelon eating contest, beer garden, 2 kids zone areas, and fireworks. All of the fun starts at 5:30pm, the watermelon eating contest starts at 7:30pm, and the fireworks start at 9:00pm.

While the surrounding areas have fantastic firework shows, including New Smyrna Beach’s July 4th celebration at Riverside Park, nothing beats your private show on the beach where you can watch the fireworks from miles and miles away. There will also be great views from Disappearing Island.

Make sure to watch the tides levels for the weekend. The beach will not be accessible until 2 hours before low tide.

  • 7/1 – High Tide: 7:12pm, Low Tide: 1:30pm
  • 7/2 – High Tide: 7:25am, Low Tide: 1:39pm
  • 7/3 – High Tide: 8:22am, Low Tide: 2:35pm
  • 7/4 – High Tide: 9:17am, Low Tide: 3:28pm

Also, check the weather and traffic. The Coke Zero 400 is going on this weekend, so you can expect a little traffic. It helps to be prepared!

    1. There are a handful of restaurants along the beach in New Smyrna – from Traders on South. We usually watch the fireworks in Riverside Park to get the best view!
